Our Europe Travels

After 2 and a half weeks of travelling we are finally back in the UK. Spain, Italy and France were the three countries we had the pleasure of visiting. The cities being Madrid, Barcelona, Rome, Marseille and Nice.

So I'm doing this post to show you guys what we got up to, and recommend all the coolest spots to go when travelling around these beautiful and different cities.

Madrid

First stop was Madrid, Spain. For some reason I wasn't expecting Madrid to blow me away, but it completely did. It's not the type of place you'd think of going for a holiday, but I'd fully recommend it. It was an awesome city and the weather was great when we were there. We were staying a 10 minute metro ride from the Gran Via which is where it was all happening! We spent a lot of money on clothes when we were there, the shops were great. There were plenty of great landmarks to see also and most are in walking distance.

  • Buen Retiro Park
  • Royal Palace of Madrid
  • Temple Of Debod
  • Plaza De Cibeles
  • El Rastro (Market)
  • Peurta De Alcala
  • Parque De Atracciónes De Madrid

We were only there for 3 nights, but we managed to visit all these places and there's much more to see!

Madrid is a must visit!

Barcelona

Second stop was Barcelona, Spain. This is a place I had visited prior and I was dying to show my girlfriend around. This is why I made sure we had 5 nights here at this special place. The city and buildings are beautiful... Looks just like the movies! There are plenty of places to visit, here are a few of my favourite:

  • La Rambla (Market)
  • Park Guell
  • Gothica Quater
  • Parc De La Ciutadella
  • Montserrat

We also spent a couple of days at the beach to get our tan on. Barceloneta Beach (nude part) was a gorgeous beach, with plenty of great places to eat around it.

Rome

The third place we went was Rome, Italy. This place has so much history that everywhere you looked there was an amazing building or a famous landmark. The great thing about Rome is that you could actually walk to every place that you'd like to see! This was ideal for us because we could see plenty of great places all within 3 days. I definitely captured some of the best photos here in Rome. Here are some must sees.

  • Colosseum
  • Trevi Fountain
  • St. Peter's Basilica
  • Roman Forum
  • Appian Way
  • Eventide Hill
There are more too! It was place I've always wanted to visit, and I'm so glad that I have. If you ever visit Europe, you HAVE to come here.

Marseille

The fourth place was Marseille, France. We only had a couple of days here, but it was very different to the previous places we had been. Our place was a 2 minute walk from the sea, which was incredible, the scenery was amazing. There seemed to be less tourists there than other places such as Barcelona and Rome, but that's why I liked it. I would also recommend heading to the Port as there were loads of nice restaurants around it, shopping hot spots and lovely views! Here are a few places to see:

  • Old Port Of Marseille
  • Marseille Cathedral
  • Fort Saint-Jean (history museum)
  • Plages Du Prado

Marseille was a lovely place to relax, personally I always like going out and doing/seeing things so I wouldn't be able to stay there much longer than a couple of days. Having said that, it was beautiful.

Nice

Our final stop was in Nice, France. Like Marseille we only had a couple of days here but I wish we had more. It was stunning walking along the beach. We stayed a 2 minute walk from the beach which was perfect and that's straight past the shopping strip as well. We spent our day on the beach. This is a place I will definitely go back to and spend more time.

  • French Riviera
  • Russian Orthodox Cathedral
  • Nice Cathedral
  • Opera De Nice

So that's the end of our trip around some beautiful cities in Europe. We had an amazing time, and I hope that from seeing this that it makes you guys want to go too. It's worth it I promise!

Until next time

By Popular Demand ...

Hi Everyone :D Hope you're all great!

I was unsure on what my next blog post should be, so i took to Twitter to ask what you guys would like see.

Maybe it was a mistake ... but pretty much all the responses were asking me to do a make up tutorial. Conveniently, my girlfriend Annie has been nagging me to do her make up for as long as we have known eachother. And of course being the man I am, I simply refused. But over the weekend, she got  her own way!

First things first, you have to put your hair up. The last thing you want is your hair in your face when creating your masterpiece.

  1. Touch of Base- using a Mac foundation brush, Annie evenly spread the foundation on my face. We decided to go a few shades darker than I normally should go...
  2. Conceal/Highlight- Concealer was applied under my eyes, on the bridge of my nose, above my lip, on my chin, on my brow bone and on my forehead. Annie then blended this with a Beauty Blender.
  3. Contour/Highlight- The Anastasia Beverley Hills Contour pallet was used to set the concealer and contour my face.
  4. Powder and Blush-  To blend my foundation, Annie used loose translucent powder and blush on the apples of my cheeks. (note: the fastest way to find the apples of your cheeks is to smile!)
  5. Eyes- A bronze shade was applied in the creases of my eyelid with a Real Techniques flat brush and a gold shadow was added on the bottom of my lip and then blended.
  6. Mascara- A Lancome mascara was used on my top and bottom lashes. Annie focused on the outer lashes with the top of the brush. (note: use an eyelash curler before you apply mascara for an even bigger eyelash boost)
  7. Eyebrows- As my eyebrows are already on fleek, Annie only lightly filled my small gaps with a Maybelline eyebrow pencil and brushes the hairs up.
  8. Lips- Using a lipstick brush, Annie applied a matte Mac lippy. (the shade is Diva)

This is the end product.

Let me know what you all think.

hahahahahaha gorg aren't I! I do not know how you do it, it took ages. Plus it was even harder to get it all off haha! If you have any tips for me in the future please let me know haha.

Hope this made you laugh, if you guys have any ideas for posts that you'd like me to do, just tweet them to me @matty_selley and I'm sure something can be arranged :P
